Triceratops — Bone Forge Skeleton
Description ▾
Triceratops horridus was one of the last non-avian dinosaurs to walk the Earth, living in the final three million years of the Late Cretaceous across what is now western North America. Among the largest of the horned dinosaurs, adults could reach nine metres in length and weigh over six tonnes. Its defining features — two brow horns exceeding a metre in length, a shorter nasal horn, and a solid bony neck frill — set it apart from all other ceratopsians, whose frills were typically open at the centre. Fossil evidence of puncture marks on recovered frills confirms that males used their horns in combat with rivals, likely competing for mates. The name Triceratops comes from the Greek: tri (three), keras (horn), and ops (face) — quite simply, three-horned face.
This articulated skeleton is designed by Pinkywings and printed here in Essex in totem carving stone filament — warm stone tones, light and dark browns running through every joint and ridge. The 15cm model captures Triceratops at its most compact: the sweeping brow horns, the textured frill, and the stocky ceratopsian silhouette are all present and all move freely. Hand-finished before it ships.
