A Christmas Gift Guide from the Forge
·
The printers in the Essex workshop have barely stopped since October. That’s normal for this time of year, and honestly it’s my favourite part of it. Every dragon and every Bone Forge skeleton on this list is made to order, printed in one piece and finished by hand. So this isn’t a list of everything we sell. It’s the pieces I’d actually hand to someone I know, sorted by who they’re for and how much you want to spend.
A couple of practical bits first:
- Free UK delivery from £25.
- BUNDLE15 takes 15% off orders of £29 or more, until 31 December. Three £9.99 skeletons gets you there.
- Everything is made to order, so leave a bit of time. Order by Friday 11 December for Christmas delivery. That gives me time to print, finish and post your order.
For the stocking: under £15
If you’re after a stocking filler that’s more interesting than a chocolate orange, the Bone Forge skeletons are where I’d start. They’re articulated display models, not toys and not museum replicas, but they have real shelf presence and they’re very satisfying to pose.
- Tyrannosaurus rex — Bone Forge Skeleton — £9.99. The classic, and the one most people ask for.
- Triceratops — Bone Forge Skeleton — £9.99. It pairs nicely with the T. rex if you’re buying for siblings.
- Woolly Mammoth — Bone Forge Skeleton — £9.99. It suits the season, and it’s a lovely heavy silhouette on a windowsill.
- Anglerfish — Bone Forge Skeleton — £9.99. This is the odd one, and it always gets a comment.
- Pteranodon — Bone Forge Skeleton — £9.99. That wingspan makes a lot of shelf for under a tenner.
- Melleth — The One the Flowers Wait For — £12.99. Gentle and floral, for someone who doesn’t want anything too fierce.
There are more ideas on our Gifts under £15 page.
For the dinosaur fan
For someone who already knows their Cretaceous from their Jurassic, go for the shapes that make a shelf look different:
- Spinosaurus — Bone Forge Skeleton — £12.99. That sail is the whole point.
- Velociraptor — Bone Forge Skeleton — £12.99.
- Smilodon — Bone Forge Skeleton — £12.99. Not a dinosaur, I know, but the sabre-tooth fans won’t mind.
- Mosasaurus — Bone Forge Skeleton — £19.99. All jaw, and properly dramatic on a shelf.
If you can’t choose, the Bone Forge Collector Starter Set — 3 Articulated Skeletons at £35.97 does it for you, with free standard UK delivery included.
For the dragon lover
This is the bit of the Forge closest to my heart. Every dragon has a name, and some have a story in the Mystmere Chronicles. The Lorekeeper says each one turned up in the valley before it ever turned up on a print bed. I’m not going to argue with the Lorekeeper.
- Veradine — The Silkfeather Phoenix Dragon — £14.99. A Special Edition with warm fire colours, very festive under fairy lights.
- Floreth — The One Who Blooms Where Rest Is Found — £14.99. Our cherry blossom dragon, for someone who needs a calmer January.
- Amoryn — The Heartbloom Rainbow Dragon — £16.99. The whole summer’s colour in one dragon.
- Pyrris — The Rocketscale Firework Dragon — £17.99. Made for New Year’s Eve.
- Vorreth — The One Who Keeps the Hive — £17.99. For the gardener or the bee-keeper in your life.
The showpieces: £19.99 to £24.99
For a main present, or for a collector who already has a shelf of dragons and needs a centrepiece:
- Korreth — The Gearspine Engine Dragon — £19.99. Gears down the spine, for the engineer or the steampunk fan.
- Aelwyn — The One Who Carries the First Light — £19.99. Our articulated unicorn dragon.
- Rosyra — The Thornwing Rose Dragon — £24.99. A Special Edition, and one of the most detailed pieces we make.
- Nyssara — The Moonshadow Wolf-Dragon — £24.99. For someone who likes their fantasy a bit darker and moonlit.
Any of these on their own clears the £25 free-delivery line once you add a small extra, and gets you most of the way to BUNDLE15.
For the person who has everything: mix the two worlds
Some of our favourite orders are a dragon and a dinosaur together. Rosyra (£24.99) with a T. rex (£9.99) comes to £34.98. That gets free delivery, and with BUNDLE15 it’s 15% off as well. Melleth with the Anglerfish and Woolly Mammoth (£12.99 + £9.99 + £9.99 = £32.97, so BUNDLE15 applies) makes a strange little three-piece shelf that I’d happily have on my own desk.
A quick honest note
Because each piece is printed and finished by hand, every one is slightly different in colour and texture. That’s PLA and a real workshop for you, not a fault. Each dragon and skeleton is printed in one piece. You take it out of the box and it moves straight away.
If you want something in a particular colour for someone particular, have a look at Custom Orders. Get in touch early, because December fills up fast.
Remember: Free UK delivery from £25, BUNDLE15 for 15% off orders of £29+ until 31 December, and order by Friday 11 December so I’ve time to print and ship it for Christmas.
Happy making, happy giving, and merry Christmas from the Forge.
